Incubus Announce 20th Anniversary Make Yourself Tour

I haven’t been hyped on Incubus in quite a long time. Their output of at least the last decade has been utterly, undeniably and quite sadly out of gas. I’d peg their 2004 album A Crow Left of the Murder as their last release with any real gusto, although I know opinions vary greatly on this issue.

But heyyyyy, let’s all jump aboard the nostalgia train! Incubus just announced a tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of Make Yourself, the 1999 album that many consider to be the band’s best, most balanced work, and the last of their releases that had any significant amount of heaviness (it’s likely their most commercially successful, too, buoyed by the crossover smash “Drive”). It isn’t presently clear whether Incubus will be performing the entire record or just building a set around a good chunk of it — kinda seems like the latter due to the vague nature of the language in their announcement — but if this is my only chance to ever see them play “The Warmth” live, I’m fucking there, dude.

Sez frontman / sexy boi Brandon Boyd:

“We are so looking forward to this fall tour. Make Yourself was such a pivotal moment in our band and we are beyond excited to reintroduce this album to our audience while also showcasing the many musical roads it ultimately led us down. See you soon!”

Dub Trio (fuck yes!!) will open a stretch of West Coast dates (nooooo!!!) while Wild Belle and Le Butcherettes will each open subsequent segments. This is a loooong tour and it goes pretty much everywhere, mostly playing large theaters.
