If there’s two things we know Germans love, it’s David Hasselhoff and humorlessness. But if there’s three things we know Germans love, it’s David Hasselhoff, humorlessness, and heavy metal music.
This being the case, Germans — and maybe even readers from other parts of the world! — will be pleased to learn that The Hoff says he’s now officially adding metal to his repertoire. Speaking to German’s Zeit, the former star of Knightrider and Baywatch said the following:
“I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album. Why not? I do not have an album title yet, but it should read: ‘Everything is allowed’. I do everything. Because I can. Because I want to.”
The article further implies that at least part of the reason for the Hasselhoff’s decision stems from the metal community’s warm reception to his video for “The Survivor.” But Noisecreep points out that the original Nick Fury has professed admiration for metal before, in a 2014 interview with Kurier.at:
“I like Iron Maiden and Metallica. That’s the kind of music I like to hear.”
We don’t know when Hoff Gets Heavy will come out, but we can assume it will be the best album of whatever year it’s released. Stay tuned for updates.
