Cave In Post New Song “All Illusion” Featuring Caleb Scofield, Announce New Album

Cave In have officially announced their new album Final Transmission after their label, Hydra Head, teased it last week. The album features Caleb Scofield’s final performances — bass on six tracks and guitar on two — and half of the proceeds from its sales will be donated to his family.

A track from the record titled “All Illusion,” the album’s lone lyrical contribution from Caleb, is now available for streaming. The song is in the same vein as much of the material on the band’s last record, White Silence (2011), a bit more downtempo and pensive than their earlier work but no less intense, with plenty of heaviness to punctuate the emotionally charged nature of the track. Listening to it and knowing that Caleb worked on it is giving me the chills, and I can only imagine it must’ve been like for the other members of the band to finish recording it.

Final Transmission comes out on June 7th via Hydra Head Industries. Pre-order links:
