Video: John Petrucci Watches Dream Theater Fan YouTube Covers

As soon as we got the call that John Petrucci was going to be in New York doing press for Dream Theater’s new album Distance Over Time (out now) we knew right away that we needed to get him in front of a computer to watch fan covers on YouTube. The ultimate takeaway: “Maybe I gotta make stuff harder.” Watch below!

For more videos of famous metal musicians watching fan covers of their work on YouTube, check out our clips with Zakk Wylde, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish), Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon, Polyphia’s Tim Henson, Marty Friedman, John 5 and Revocation’s Dave Davidson.

Filmed at Adorama in New York City.
