Michael Anthony has scotched the rumour that has been doing the rounds this festive season that he will rejoin Van Halen for a reunion stadium tour next summer.
This would have been the first time that the four founding Van Halen members, David Lee Roth, Eddie and Alex Van Halen and former bassist Anthony would have performed together since 1984.
Anthony spoke to Premiere Radio Networks on Wednesday 26th December and said: "The only comment I have is that I haven’t spoken to any of the guys since we last played together back in 2004."
He added that he did run into Alex Van Halen "a few years back" but there was nothing more than "small talk" exchanged between them.

Anthony was replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang after he left the band in 2006 and it is no secret that the two parties have not been on good terms since.
David Lee Roth said to Vulture earlier this month: "When we come back through town in the summertime and do the original thing, maybe somewhere sportin’, maybe with somebody famous, I’ll make sure we get you all tickets so you can see what we do for gainful employment. My mom still wonders," adding "next time my rock band will be playing the same place that the Yankees play."
Meanwhile, Eddie Trunk said on his SiriusXM show: "Every year there’s some rumour about Van Halen about to do something or announce something, and ultimately it just doesn’t happen. But, a little more so than normal as we close out 2018, I’m starting to hear some rumblings.
"The rumours from reliable sources – but still rumours that are unconfirmed – is that the band will tour in 2019 with the original band, which would mean the return of Michael, and that it’s gonna be some sort of stadium package."
In November 2017, former frontman Sammy Hagar said that he had lost hope that he would ever reunite with Van Halen, saying that Eddie and Alex do not want to reconnect with him as friends.
Van Halen last played in October 2015 when they toured North America.
