2Cellos – ‘Let There Be Cello’ (Sony Australia)

2Cellos artworkAli W been a massive fan of what 2Cellos have been doing for some time now, so he jumped at the chance to have a wee shufti at the new offering from the two far too good looking classically trained yet very much at home covering metal cellists. The first thing he noticed is that ‘Let There Be Cello’ is far from just a rock covers album. There’s Ed Sheeran, Leonard Cohen and John Lennon in there, as well as a couple of original tracks and a sprinkling of classical – all of which he reckons adds up to an album that can appeal to pretty much anyone who wants to revel in the musicianship while also still clinging to a genre:
