Bands like Senser, Pitchshifter and The Prodigy appealed to both ravers and headbangers alike and while it was never a completely harmonious union, fusing the genres left a lasting impression. Fast forward to now and Portsmouth’s Seething Akira have emerged from the underground to snatch the dance-rock baton and run with it into a warehouse full of lasers and smoke machines. According to our man on the south coast, ‘Sleepy Skeletor’, their debut album, might just make them huge:
