Myles Kennedy – ‘Year Of The Tiger’ (Napalm Records)

myles kennedy year of the tigerRich H would like to get one thing straight from the off: one-man-and-his-guitar records have been done to death. Quite possibly the oldest format going, the acoustic release often feels like a quiet aside from each musician’s main career, a way to charge the batteries before getting the band going again. That’s not so say they can’t be good, but it does suggest that it takes something very special to shine out amdist the million-and-one other acoustic solo performers cluttering up the scene. It’s probably just as well then, that Myles Kennedy’s debut solo release, ‘Year Of The Tiger’, isn’t an acoustic release – sort of… as he explains herewith:
