Los Angeles based guitarist Brad Jurjens is releasing his first solo album today. It’s a heavy metal record featuring Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Journey, Sons of Apollo) on vocals, among others David Ellefson (Megadeth) and Ralph Ciavolino (Yngwie Malmsteen) on bass,  Aaron Stechauner (Rings of Saturn) and Brandon Pertzborn (Doyle, Black Flag) on drums.

The album’s kickoff party happened at the Ultimate Jam Night at the legendary Whisky a Go Go on Tuesday night, when Brad and his band opened for “Hollywood Loves Las Vegas“, a benefit show where all proceeds went to the Las Vegas trauma center, the place where most of the recent shooting victims were sent. It even made the local Los Angeles Fox 11 news, where you can see Brad and the singer of his band, Dee Snider’s (Twisted Sister) son Jesse Snider perform “Slip Away,” one of the songs from the new record. Says Brad: “This event was very special to me, not only because it was my record release party, but also because I played a sold-out show at an outside venue called Beauty Bar on Fremont Street in Las Vegas a week before the mass shooting happened. I played with my band Skumlove opening for Combichrist and Lords of Acid. The police and the FBI have determined that the shooter was staying at a hotel next to the venue and that he was “dry running” and practicing crowd shooting from his hotel window at that time. It’s hard to explain how sick I felt when I found that out, and my heart goes out to all of the victims and their loved ones“.
